I’ve been following this series for a while now and Jane never fails to deliver! Once again, Six was a heart-stopping page-turner that I amazingly finished in one sitting despite multiple hollers from my mom telling me to go to bed.
In Six, we follow a few of the characters we’ve met previously in the series. Paige’s stalker returns once more in another attempt to kill her, but this time he’s not the only threat. At the same time, a woman named Faith is dealing with a few demons of her own. One day, she disappears, along with four other women who too have dark pasts. Annabelle Englewood returns as well – she hasn’t quite recovered from being attacked, and its thrown a wrench into her relationship with Xavier. Unfortunately, time is of the essence, and someone is after Annabelle again, this time for much different reasons. (For real though – Jane has put that girl through SO. MUCH.)
This book was amazing, and like I said, I loved it so much I finished it in one go! One thing that makes Six different from the previous books is that the plot was not centered around one character and one event. Instead, the book brought multiple characters into the spotlight, and the author made it work. I’ve read books that tried to handle too much in too little, but in Six the variety not only kept me on my toes, it also made the story seem very realistic. Of course, there were several plot twists thrown into the mix, and I was left feeling ABSOLUTELY SHOOKETH.
It was great to see all of these familiar faces again! As someone who sometimes forgets books almost right after I finish them, I’m very impressed with myself for remembering everyone’s story, and honestly, that is also a testament to how great this series is. And surprisingly, I found that I could still learn more about every character, and even in this book, they were constantly developing. It’s amazing to look back at some of the characters I met in book one and see how far they’ve come.
The writing style was great as always, and there were several lines that gave me serious goosebumps. I really love how the story addressed some domestic and more emotional issues as well, bringing the characters to life. The author really succeeded in creating the different atmospheres for each scene – I felt my heart jump during the frightening scenes, and I felt my heart burst at the romantic ones.
Overall, this is a book and series I would definitely recommend! The author has done a superb job of tying the characters and their stories together. It’s that amazing to see that the characters I met five books ago still play such a pivotal role, and I can’t wait to read book seven!
